Can anyone please list for me the tools and equipment needed to change the Front Differential Axle?
Are there any specialist tools required other than what a mechanic would usually have?
Evans Halshaw / Pendragon PLC... Poor customer Service? Problems with Warranty? Ripped Off? post your experience / help here to help others avoid / fight Evans Halshaw. This Blog is unfinished as I am unsure if I can post my story without damaging my case against Evans Halshaw.

SO NOW THEY WANT TO INSPECT THE BROKEN AXLE
266 days after first reporting the problem with the 4-wheel drive and 147 days after suggesting that the removed axle is inspected they now want a Mechanical Engineer to take a look at it and write a report!
This has been requested 21 days after they have received my claim from the Courts and 7 days prior to the time they are to present their defence.
So, they drag their feet to the last minute to ask for the extension!
What they neglected to inform me of was that not only does the Mechanical Engineer need to see the parts, but also needs to see and drive the vehicle and see documentation!
POOR PRACTICE! POOR SERVICE! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

EVANS HALSHAW & GELDARDS LLP PROLONG & APPLY PRESSURE
Not a surprise....
They have requested an extension and have left it once again to the last minute to ask for it and then apply what I feel are 'bullying tactics':
They have requested an extension and have left it once again to the last minute to ask for it and then apply what I feel are 'bullying tactics':
- 28 hours and 20 minutes given to agree to extension when they have already had 3 weeks!
- Threat to Apply an Order with the Courts to make me pay for the Application for extension of the deadline if I do not agree or fail to agree within the time limit they have set!

Claim issued against Bramell Quicks t/a Evans Halshaw
I have now issued my claim to which they are 'defending all claims'.
They now have until 17th February 2011 to present their defence.
I expected them to do so, which has not intimidated me at all.
As they did not present their intention of defence until the last day, I put my money on them leaving it until the last day (17th Feb) to present their defence.
This no doubt is another tactic, prolonging the situation!!!

Contact Pendragon's Legal Team
I've just sent an email to Mr Richard Maloney who is part of Pendragon's Legal team whom I have been communicating with, in regards to this matter.
He's currently on annual leave, but his automated email has been kind enough to give me a contact number for Pendragon.
As this number is hard to find, I would like to share it with you. I haven't called it, but it may be worth a go if you want to get in direct contact with the Legal Team.

Outline...
In a nutshell here's how my experience has panned out so far...
Bought a 4x4 'runabout'.
As it came with a 30 day/1000 mile Evans Halshaw warrany, one week after I had it I took it to a suitable location where there were 2 Rangers and tested the 4 wheel drive.
Instantly there was a problem of a nasty noise from the drive.
I informed Evans Halshaw, they said it was ok to drive if it was driving in 2 wheel drive.
Car booked in with Evans Halshaw... 3 weeks time!!!!
Called into Evans Halshaw to confirm booking, and offered them to have a look at 4 wheel drive... they DECLINED.
Next Day...Malfunction Indicator Light came on.
Informed Evans Halshaw, they said it was ok to drive but bring it in for a diagnostic when possible.
Light went off.
Called in a week later to Evans Halshaw.
They did a diagnostic and said it was ok to drive.
Again I asked if they wanted to look at the 4 wheel drive...they AGAIN DECLINED, as they said it was booked in in a weeks time with a local 4x4 specialist.
Courtesy car collected when I dropped of my vehicle at Evans Halshaw... £10 per day charge 'for insurance'!!! (thats no courtesy car if i have to pay surely?)
Call from Evans Halshaw to ask to keep my vehicle longer as they'd not figured out problem, Oh! and 'just to remind you there is a £500 limit on your warranty'!!
WHAT!?
THAT'S NOT STATED ON MY SIGNED WARRANTY, NOR POINTED OUT AT TIME OF PURCHASE!
Now here's where it gets sticky, so im putting this into a hazel-nut-shell!...
AXEL BROKEN!
IDLE AIR VALVE NEEDS REPLACING!
OVER £2000 OF REPAIRS, SO FAR!
Lots of emails back n forth...
Evans Halshaw REFUSE currently to fix my vehicle.
They refuse to allow me to get the vehicle repaired at their expense.
Evans Halshaw offered a Full refund by buying the car back off me for the price I paid(eventually), declined by myself as I wish the repairs to be made.(This offer does not include any expenses already accrued ie courtesy car costs, etc. and we are also unaware if this offer would include any hidden charges that they made ontop of the purchase price as their offer did not specify).
.
More emails...
Just waiting for a response from my last email, for the 3rd time asking for contact details of their Head Office.
